I’ve been reading for months now about how liquid lipsticks have been delivering on promises of being truly long-wearing, through messy pasta meals and make out sessions, along with containing terrific pigmentation.
With the exception of brands like NYX, Laura Mercier, and Make Up For Ever, not many are available here in the Philippines. Of course, the aforementioned brands have truly exceptional liquid lipsticks, but when Into the Gloss posts about the spring 2015 lineup of Too Faced Liquified Long Wear Lipstick, you can’t help but be curious, right?
Rather than pay extortionate international shipping fees (or resort to shady Instagram vendors), check a few of the now-available liquid lipstick brands and find out where to get them.
OFRA Long Lasting Liquid
About the product: You know you’ve discovered a good product when a makeup artist introduces it to you. I first heard about OFRA earlier this year when makeup artist Ria Aquino improvised with OFRA Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in place of pink eyeliner. More recently, celebrity makeup artist Krist Bansuelo revealed that he used the same product on Toni Gonzaga for her wedding day.
The product has a slight glossy finish, and lasts for up to five hours. It also contains antioxidants and Vitamin E for moisture. The color range is impressive with nude and marsala-toned hues that Kylie Jenner would go for, along with bright reds, corals, and pinks. They even have neon green and midnight blue colors, if you’re up for them.

Where to get it: Available at Glamourbox, Seek the Uniq, and BeautyMNL. For more information, visit their website.
Pop Beauty Plump Pout
In terms of color selection, Pop Beauty plays it very safe with just four shades in their lineup: a pink, a nude, and two berry-slash-marsala colors. Each one is pigmented enough that you don’t need to layer a solid lipstick underneath to achieve a decent color pay-off, although that would translate to a bolder lip.

OCC Lip Tar
OCC has since released a matte version of their popular Lip Tars, along with a stained gloss. But for now, what we have available in Manila is the original formulation. Color selection leaves nothing to be desired: neutrals, pastels, metallics, neons—they’ve got ‘em all. The only downside? They aren’t long-wearing, but XoVain’s got a great hack to fix that.

Where to get it: Available at Calyxta. For more information, visit their website.
Lime Crime Velvetine Liquid Lipstick
About the product: If you’ve ever looked wistfully at photos of women rocking Anastasia Liquid Lipstick on Google Images, cursing at the fact that they don’t have to pay for international shipping, then finding Lime Crime Velvetine Liquid Lipstick could be a happy discovery. The two are often compared for their incredible color selection, intense pigmentation, and impressively long-lasting formulation. The major differences? Lime Crime’s branding is much cuter and the brand’s founder only slightly crazier.
Because this product is long-wearing, there is a chance it could be extremely drying for some, so be sure to layer a waxy lip balm first (like Carmex) to seal in moisture before application.
Price: P1,195
Where to get it: Available at Calyxta, though they are currently out of stock. A good alternative would be the Lime Crime Velvetine Lip Glosses, which also dry down matte (and are in-stock). For more information, visit their website.
3 Concept Eyes Lip Pigment
About the product: Hailing from Korea, this multi-use product is more than just a possible dupe for OCC Lip Tar. The line is mostly available in wearable shades, like pink, coral, and beige. Oddly, though, they don’t have it in red. They also have an electric yellow and pasty white, but they aren’t meant to be used alone. Instead, they are to be mixed with other colors from the range to make them warmer (with the yellow), or paler (with the white). Pretty ingenious, if you ask me.
The finish could be described as demi-matte; there is still a hint of shine, but the pigments win out. The formulation is also long-wearing. As a bonus, 3 Concept Eyes also claims that this is also suitable for use as a cheek tint and eye shadow.

Too Faced Liquified Long Wear Lipstick
These issues can be solved again with a waxy lip balm, while the feathering can be prevented with a lip liner. Other than that, the formula is extremely long-wearing and non-drying. When it finally fades, you’re left with a lovely stain on your lips.
Price: P1,375
Where to get it: Available at BeautyMNL, though the product is currently waitlisted. For more information, visit their website.
