Designer Christian Louboutin Gets His Own Documentary

If there’s anything we’ve learned in the last few weeks, it’s that French luxury shoe designer Christian Louboutin is such a tease.

First, Allure broke the news of his first 36-piece lipstick collection for Christian Louboutin Beauté on their website before taking the post down (they wanted to change photos, apparently), sending waves of collective confusion among the Preen editorial team.

Now, WWD reports news of the first documentary on the famed shoe designer, but hold up: it’s a UK-exclusive only. Set to be aired on UK broadcaster Channel 4, the hour-long documentary is entitled Christian Louboutin: The World’s Most Luxurious Shoes. Directed by Michael Waldman, the film will “observe the French shoe designer as he builds his global business—over the course of Paris Fashion Week; during a trip to the Himalayas; as he meets with celebrity clients in Mumbai and at his factory in Milan, all the time accompanied by his butler Safquat.”

Set to air on Tuesday at 9 p.m. London time (that’s 4 p.m. this Wednesday here in Manila), the documentary’s producer promises “not only an insight into the business of luxury shoes, but the changing tides of wealth and power across the globe.”

If you’re super bummed about not getting to watch it, you can always download Christian’s new photo-filter app, which was also announced earlier today. Called “Louboutinize,” the free app is available on iTunes and according the The Cut’s Véronique Hyland, it “includes a ‘Rouge’ filter to tint your Instagrams shoe-sole scarlet—the better to camouflage a rogue sunburn or unappetizing-looking entrée.”
