Goodbye, Pastries! Hello, Pecan Pie-Flavored M&M’s

No autumn? No problem.

A shopper at Walmart in the States recently spotted the newest low-key flavor to come from M&M’s. This year’s limited-edition holiday candy takes cues from Pecan Pie, dividing its actual ingredients into artificial shelled bits.
Or at least, that’s what it seems like. Refinery29 reports that judging from the packaging, the candies might not be all Pecan Pie-flavored per se. Rather, individual bits will taste like what the pie is made of. Different colored shells appear in the front, teasing the possibility that there could be crust, filling, and whipped cream flavors to mimic the fall favorite as a whole.
Unlike the Japanese KitKat, M&Ms stays simple with its original flavors, only bending to consumers‘ preferences when a new season hits. The brand continues its tradition of churning out timely flavors like pumpkin spice for a previous fall, and cinnamon for a past Christmas.
The taste, of course, isn’t that stellar. While many others would prefer to eat pecan pie in all its crunchy, nutty goodness, a few others may just want a quick, couldn’t-be-bothered-by-the-taste fix.
Currently, the flavor is only available this fall in the US. But hey, now’s the time to contact a tita and ask them (nicely) to hoard.
