Taking notes from Zendaya and Anya Taylor-Joy’s fun, elegant looks

Among today’s most sought-after young celebs are Zendaya and Anya Taylor-Joy. Apart from their acting chops, the two have also been making waves as budding style icons—with the help of celebrity stylist Law Roach, of course. If you’re looking to cop their casually elegant style, here’s a list of looks and pieces that you’ll want to try out.

Cut-outs

Both Zendaya and Taylor-Joy have donned a number of backless cut-out dresses in red carpet events. During the Emmys, Taylor-Joy wore a yellow halter-neck Dior dress in silk satin with a yellow silk faille opera coat. Her bare back was adorned with a Tiffany and Co. diamond necklace.

For the “Spider-Man: Far from Home” premiere, Zendaya wore a red and black Armani Privé sequined gown that seemed like her own version of the Spidey suit.

While both dresses  are sleek and sexy, cut-out dresses can also be fun and dainty. If you’re uncomfortable showing off this much skin and body-hugging garments aren’t your thing, you can opt for dresses with asymmetrical necklines and slit cut-outs on one side.

Sheer and flowy

Both actresses have also worn a couple of flowy, sheer dresses with their skin waist-down kept hidden. For the Critics’ Choice Awards, Taylor-Joy wore a tulle Dior dress with a braided waistline and sheer gloves.

Switching things up, Zendaya wore a sheer Rahul Mishra Couture organza shirtdress with a plunging neckline for a Bulgari event, which was paired with wide-legged trousers. If you’re not a fan of dresses, sheer coats are a cool alternative.

Straight and sleek or tight curls

Zendaya is a hair chameleon, so being adventurous with your hair is one way to share her style principles. You can try doing a sleek ponytail with a middle part like her look for the BET Awards where she paid homage to Beyoncé.

If you have naturally curly hair, you can also add a little volume and keep your curls loose for that added flair.

A red lip or dramatic ‘70s eye makeup

Taylor-Joy’s makeup artist Georgie Eisdell has two go-to’s for the actress: fresh faced with a bold red lip or dramatic ‘70s eye makeup with a nude lip.

For the ‘70s eye makeup, you can opt for a classic smokey eye and add a bit of bronze from the lid to the crease. Don’t forget to apply mascara and coat your lashes thoroughly. You can also go for a dramatic cat eyeliner look. For “Saturday Night Live,” Taylor-Joy even had her hair in a beehive half updo to complete her ‘60s retro look.

Which of these Zendaya and Anya Taylor-Joy looks are your faves?
