Our fave Filipino beauty brand drops of 2022—so far

New year, new makeup. We love having holy grails but we’re also constantly on the lookout for the next thing F-beauty has to offer. We’ve also learned of the perils of not breaking up with makeup way past their due dates. So, we went on a search for the latest makeup drops from some of our favorite Filipino beauty brands to add something new to our makeup rotation.

Here’s a list of new products that could be the next mainstays on your vanity.

Chu Chü Beauty’s Multiuse Heart Sticks

Chu Chü Beauty is a K-beauty inspired local brand that was launched in February. The brand describes its products, which come in cute packaging, as made-to-play. Our favorite from its debut collection is its all-around tinted balm stick aptly named the Multiuse Heart Stick.

The creamy, non-sticky blush comes in six shades: Berry Best, Peach Crush, Soft Brown, Burnt Clay, Rose Bouquet, and Coral Beat. If you’re feeling adventurous, utilizing its heart shape can make for an interesting detail for your makeup look. It retails for P249 each. You might also want to check out Chu Chü Beauty’s stackable 4-in-1 lip tower called Lipstack.

Filipinta Beauty’s F.L.A.M.E.S eyeshadow palette

New York-based brand Filipinta Beauty is back with another drop that is in part a witty callback to Pinoy culture. Back in January, it launched its F.L.A.M.E.S eyeshadow palette which comes in an ultra-cute spiral notebook packaging that will have you reminiscing about your puppy love and slam book days.

The palette includes nine red and pink shades: Torpe, Harana, Ligaw, Crushie, Kilig, Labs, Prom Date, Nobya and Balentayms. It retails for $25 USD (about P1,300) and orders from the Philippines must be sent via DM. You might also want to check out the brand’s Tingi Tingi lip cuties which come in paper packaging inspired by candy sachets.

Powerpuff Girls x Vice Cosmetics’s Girls Rule Lid Cream

Last February, Vice Cosmetics launched another limited edition collab collection. This time, it’s with the girl-power cartoon “The Powerpuff Girls.” The 11-piece Powerpuff Girls Vice Cosmetics collection even includes a tin lunch box for that added nostalgia. Our favorite from the line is the budge-proof cream-to-powder metallic eyeshadow called Girls Rule Lid Cream.

The liquid eyeshadow comes in three shades: Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice. It retails for P245 each. You might also want to check out the line’s What’s Your Powfactor? multi-layered heart-shaped powder blush.

Kayu Beauty’s Kayu Kiss lipsticks

After dominating TikTok, Kayu Beauty’s founders now have their eyes set on creating makeup for morenas. Beauty queen Ayn Bernos, makeup artist Rica Salomon, and creative director Kai Javier launched their brand back in February. With a brand name derived from the word kayumanggi, Kayu Beauty plans to offer products that suit a range of Filipino skin tones. Its first offering? Kayu Kiss classic bullet lipsticks.

The soft matte moisturizing lipstick comes in six shades: Send nudes, Watcha pink, Clay with me, Luv u a latte, Left u on red, and Papa don’t peach. It retails for P349 each.

Glitz Bish Cosmetics’s Mannequeen Plump Glozz Twisties

Lip plumping brand Glitz Bish Cosmetics knows a thing or two about giving you that Bratz-esque look. In January, the brand re-released its nude plumping lip gloss collection called Mannequeen in twist pens. Brush tip applicators can make putting on lip gloss so much easier.

The Mannequeen Plump Glozz Twistie comes in seven shades: On Zaddy’s Platinum, Bling Thing, Glitter Digger, Sweatuhh Weathuhh, Ca$hmere Vibez, Birthmonth Suit, and Designer Dreamz. It retails for P190 each.
