18 of the Best Sneaker Collabs You Should Be Collecting Now

Well-loved and worn sneaker designs like the Adidas Superstar and the Nike Air Max share this constant challenge: How to make a widely recognized silhouette feel new again? It seems like they knew the answer all this time as sneaker collaboration after collaboration keeps dropping even before all of us can keep up.

That tiny “x” placed in between the brand and collaborator to mark a new joint venture in design also means an x amount of pairs released only to be sold out in a matter of minutes. When you hear musicians like Rihanna and Rita Ora designing sneakers, high fashion brands Comme des Garçon and Stella McCartney doing capsule sneaker collections and, heck, even cartoon Disney characters appearing on pairs of shoes now, women become enticed to give their feet downtime from high heels and lace it up with the latest buzz-worthy pair of sneaks.

“[Sports style] is a very lifestyle sportswear, so there is much more of a fashion element,” says Dirk Schönberger, creative director of Adidas’ sport style division.

So if you’re a sneakerhead or just newbie in the sneaker world, here are 18 recently released, newly announced, and to-be-continued shoe collaborations you must know now before—*poof*—they’re gone (if they aren’t already).
