New York Fashion Week has been crazy with all the trends we’ll be looking forward for next summer. I bet you can hardly wait. Good thing there are a few things we picked up from #NYFW that we can copy easily like the beauty looks that graced the runway this season. From ’60s mod to gilded peepers, here are some of the beauty looks we saw in the Big Apple that you can wear right now.
Jeremy Scott
I think Jeremy Scott got sick of all the ’70s revivals we’ve been experiencing these past few seasons. For his S/S ’16 show, he changed the #throwback standards completely and recreated the ’60s with loud prints, big hair, and big lashes. The Eye Am The One Holy Grail Mascara (P899) from Happy Skin promises to stimulate lash growth with the Swertia Japonica Extract aside from making your lashes fuller and longer. While the skinny Maximieyes brush allows you to easily reach the very ends of your lashes and the fine, smaller hairs so you can get those big lashes without falsies.
Happy Skin. Available at all Beauty Bar branches. For more information, visit their website.
DKNY
The debut collection of Public School designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osbourne for DKNY laid out a simple formula for making sure your clothes match your makeup: dark, red lips paired with neutrals. The MAC Lipstick in Just A Bite (P1,200) is a red lipstick with blue undertones that provides a really deep, blood-red hue that would look killer with an #allblackeverything ensemble.
MAC. Available at Rustan’s The Beauty Source, Glorietta 4, SM Makati, SM Megamall, SM Aura Premier, and Eastwood Mall. For more information, visit their website.
Givenchy
The highly-anticipated show of Givenchy in New York did not disappoint. Performance art and fashion came together to present Riccardo Tisci’s interpretation of Givenchy’s signature vixen vibe with a modern take. The beauty looks for the show also followed suit. Focusing on just one aspect of the face instantly gives the look mystery and confidence. Here, Givenchy goes for eyes that can kill. The twist? It’s not achieved with eyeliner but with deep copper eyeshadow spread all over the lid. The Yves Rocher Single Eyeshadow in Brun Cuivré (P495) offers a satin finish that gives the eyes depth and dimension while also making them look brighter.
Yves Rocher. Available at SM Southmall, SM Aura, SM North Edsa, SM Fairview, and Trinoma. For more information, visit their website.
Victoria Beckham
As expected from the sleek and chic Victoria Beckham, the beauty look for her runway show was about sticking to the essentials and not going for something on-trend. Beautiful, glowing skin left bare save for some highlighter was the focus of the show. If you are wondering how to achieve the same effortless look, spread a small amount of the L’Oreal True Match Blur Cream (P600) all over your face before you put on foundation so you can look poreless instantly
L’Oreal. Available at selected Watson’s branches. For more information, visit their website.
Diesel Black Gold
Grunge was the name of the game for Diesel Black Gold. Messy, side-swept hair matched the heavily lined eyes of the models for the show. For a night out, you can rock this look with nude lips and the MAC Eye Pencil in Ebony (P1,200). You can achieve a dark line and well-defined peepers with just one swipe, but it’s also soft enough to apply on your waterline without irritating your eyes.
