Madonna’s Daughter Nabs Modeling Debut For Stella McCartney’s New Scent

We all know by now how the Queen of Pop Madonna influenced the world of music and fashion, and we all saw how strong it was especially after witnessing her greatness during her very first concert here in Manila last month. With this in mind, it comes as no surprise that her eldest daughter Lourdes “Lola” Leon is following her footsteps as a performer (she’s studying theater arts at the University of Michigan), and now, a model as she was chosen as the final face for Stella McCartney’s newest fragrance POP.

This is Lola’s first dive into modeling as she joins other POP muses including actress Amandla Stenberg, singer Grimes, and model-animal rights activist Kenya Kinski-Jones. But unlike her superstar mother, she tells Vogue that she has been fairly lowkey in the media because she doesn’t want people watching her every move all the time. “I have a lot of people judging my every move. It’s important for me not to let it rule my life,” she says.

POP is Stella’s second fragrance four years after the release of her first one, STELLA, and it is also vegan-friendly. It will be available on April 17 at Sephora stores and the website for $50. There’s no news yet if it’ll also be available on Sephora PH.

For the fragrance’s ad campaign, Stella set out to find women who “promote self-acceptance,” which is one of the main reasons why Lola took on the stint. “I go through this struggle myself, [where] women’s bodies have been so public that everyone feel like they need to comment. I love when someone doesn’t pretend to be someone they are not,” Lola says.

And of course, her dear mother also proudly shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the POP shoot on her Instagram to show her support.

It’s always nice to see a fresh face in the modeling world, especially those with unique looks like Lola’s. Now that she’s made her debut in modeling, maybe she can do this full-time along with her aspiring career as a performer. Who’s stopping her, right?
