After landing a cover on Sports Illustrated‘s swimsuit issue and walking for H&M’s autumn/winter collection during Paris Fashion Week, model Ashley Graham’s streak of success is still going strong as she fronted her first Maxim cover.
With only a white polo shirt to cover her up, Ashley flaunts her natural curves on the April issue, serving another win for body positivity in fashion. In her interview with the magazine, she says that her modeling success has been a stepping stone to building her future empire. “I know these celebrity entrepreneurs are just people. They’ve just been given the right opportunities and have soared with them. And that’s what I’m trying to do. I’m in total build-the-empire mode right now,” she says.
Isn’t it nice that fashion has been more inclusive, especially with body types, these days? Aside from magazines and runway shows, powerhouse agency IMG Models even recently recruited their first plus-size male model. Yup, we’re definitely seeing an improvement in the industry, and we’re hoping it’s not just a passing trend.
