Fashion’s Next Breed Face Off at Look of Style Awards 2016

In search of fresh and emerging talent in fashion and accessories, Look of Style Awards (LOSA) allows young designers to show off their talents for a chance to win a short course at Instituto Marangoni, London.

Last night, the contestants and winners were presented to the country’s top editors, fashion designers, and style personalities like Ben Chan, Jackie Aquino, Michael Salientes, Apples Aberin, and also Instituto Marangoni’s Emanuele Colombo. From dainty pastel ensembles to culture pieces that incorporated native cloth, the contestants showed off their skills and the influence of today’s landscape on clothing.

Out of 14 contestants—10 for apparel and four for accessories—two winners were chosen for the full-expenses paid three-week short course to the prestigious Instituto Marangoni in London. The lucky winners were accessories designer Micki Olaguer and fashion designer Eugene Tidalgo. The sponsors also gave special recognition to two more contestants—Bench gave the Love Local Award to Andrea Lopa and SM Accessories chose Meme Dakay for Best Designer.

Congratulations and we can’t wait for what’s in store for both Micki and Eugene!
