It’s no stranger to us that aloe vera is a go-to this summer. Not only can we benefit from its cooling components, it can also help soothe nasty sunburns. (And you probably know by now that sunburns don’t just happen in the beach anymore.)
While we’ve already established that it can be incorporated into many different products like a vitamin supplement, we tried four more products that you can use everyday for a fresher feeling this summer.
#1 Jergens Soothing Aloe Moisturizing Lotion
Pro: I’m not a big fan of lotions because of their thick consistency that leaves my skin feeling sticky, and also their overpowering scent. However, I find this product’S consistency to be just right and does not leave any residue on the skin, and has a mild scent.
Con: Even though it’s cooling and moisturizes your skin while under the sun, it is not advisable to use this as a substitute for sunblock since it lacks SPF. Also, using the product on your face might clog up your pores.
Jergens. Available at Beauty MNL and select Watsons branches. For more information, visit their Facebook page and website.
Pro: This product is mainly used to soothe sunburns, but you can also use this smooth gel as a sub for lotion, especially if you sweat a lot and your lotion starts to feel icky on your skin.
Con: The size of its container can take too much space in your handbag, so it’s not travel-friendly. And since it comes in a tub, it may become unsanitary to use because it doesn’t have a pump dispenser.
Luxe Organix. Available at Watsons. For more information, visit their website.
#3 Aloe Derma Shampoo
Pro: My hair felt soft after one use and it gives off a light fresh scent.
Con: Same as any hair product, the effect of the shampoo may not go well to other hair types. I suggest you test it out for a few days to see how your hair will react to it.

#4 Aloe Derma Hair and Scalp Tonic
Pro: It can help alleviate hair fall with just a few drops to the scalp after showering.
Con: It has a faint medicine-like scent that some may not like. But the scent doesn’t stay long, don’t worry. Plus, it comes in a small bottle and it doesn’t say just how much you should use, so you should be careful not to use too much if you don’t want to keep stocking up on this.
