As I’m writing this, people have probably gotten their hands on the newest Kylie Lip Kit, Dead of Knight—a matte black liquid lipstick.
It’s true that the color is very different from Kylie Jenner’s usual bright red and nude tone Lip Kits. So the question is, what made her come out with this striking black lippie? Is it pertaining to a specific person just like her first few Lip Kits? Is it hinting at a certain dark past she’s had?
While we don’t exactly know whether our theories are correct, Kylie did reveal her inspiration on Instagram. By the looks of it, she’s dedicating the dark lippie to her 16-year-old self—who’s also sporting a dark lip in the throwback photo.
Aww, that’s sweet, Kylie.
Although Kylie has released Dead of Knight first, take note that she’s also revealed a metallic black one called Majesty last month. However, there’s no date yet on when Majesty will be released.
But anyway, now that she’s come out with black lippies, will she release more bold and quirky colors in the future? Well, knowing Kylie, we’ll just have to wait till she swatches more colors on her Instagram or Snapchat accounts.
