Italian shoe brand Aquazzura officially filed a lawsuit against American shoe brand Steve Madden for copying three (not just one!) shoe designs.
Steve Madden allegedly copied their Lecrew, Sassey, and Sharliet designs which looked similar, if not exactly like Aquazzura’s Sexy Thing, Wild Thing, and Christy. The American brand has been known to use the designs of the Florence-based brand since 2013. Aquazzura complained about it, but Steve Madden still continue to do so leaving them with no choice but to seek legal advice and file for a case.
“This is not the first time Aquazzura filed a suit against a brand that uses its design. We will continue to fight and try to stop these actions. Authenticity and originality are at the core of our brand, and we will defend them at all costs,” said Aquazzura CEO Jean-Michel Vigneau in a statement.
Steve Madden is not the only one facing a lawsuit but also Ivanka Trump for copying the designs of Aquazzura’s Wild Thing. It definitely looks like Aquazzura is on a lawsuit spree—we would definitely do so if it happens to us.
