Are Velour Tracksuits Really Back for Good?

Call it a bad omen or a hilarious turn of events, but thanks to Vetements, Juicy Couture made its debut at Paris Couture Week.

Fashionista thinks its a glorious event despite the VPL. While we here are cringing a little bit, the pinnacle of white trash fashion is back with a vengeance. Is this karma? Is this poetic justice? Or is this a way of looking back at the history of different iconic looks?

Demna Gvasalia made a very bold move by collaborating with different brands for his first Paris Couture Week show. These include Levi’s, Manolo Blahnik, and Champion. The young designer has effectively launched his cult brand Vetements into mainstream status in line with his stint as creative director of Balenciaga.

Still, velour tracksuits on the runway? We can’t handle it. Especially when you take into consideration how a TV show based on the memoirs of the Juicy Couture founders is in the works.
