Science may have just found another way to get people to eat their veggies. According to a recent study, eating eight portions of fruits and vegetables per day can make you happier.
The authors from University of Warwick observed over 12,000 people for six years, and found that their uplifted moods from eating fruits and veggies were “equivalent to moving unemployment to employment.”
They have yet to determine what’s causing their mood to change, but they write that there’s “a psychological payoff now from fruits and vegetables―not just a lower health risk decades later.”
This study seems fitting considering that carbs are linked to depression and red meats can be carcinogenic. So better consider your food choices from now on.
