Donatella Versace Designs Her First-Ever Versus Collection

After NYFW comes London Fashion Week, and outlets are already abuzz over Donatella Versace designing Versus’ collection for the first time.

For spring/summer `17, the Italian brand showcased Donatella’s signature rebellious chic style. The collection mostly had black leather and camo pieces, as well as bright yellow ensembles.

Vogue describes the collection as having “club-friendly, body-con clothes” which obviously shows Donatella’s goal to cater to a younger market. The magazine adds that she’s even working on bringing the prices down.

Donatella designed the whole collection with an in-house team, making it her first for Versus ever since reviving it in 2009. Before that, Anthony Vaccarello, who is now Saint Laurent’s creative director. Christopher Kane and JW Anderson also previously created designs for Versus.

Overall, it’s a great collection from Donatella to greet the first few days of LFW. The question now is whether she will permanently take the helm of Versus or if she’ll look for another creative director.
