Kendall Jenner Asks Angry Ballerinas to Chill After Her ‘Vogue’ España Shoot

Kendall Jenner addressed all the angry comments on her recent Vogue España shoot where she portrayed a ballerina.

Just a little refresher: Kendall had a ballet-themed shoot with the magazine and also “attempted” to dance like a ballerina in a video. This became a hot topic among dancers, calling the portrayal as disrespectful to their craft.

“It’s so funny that people are getting pregnant and married—or having crazy drama—but my drama is ballerinas being upset at me!” Kendall writes on her blog and app. “With my Vogue Spain shoot, I didn’t even know I was going to be a ballerina until I went into hair and makeup.”

She adds, “It confuses me how people can get that upset when there are so many important things going on in the world. But, it’s obviously not going to stop me from working hard and being me.”

While she does make a valid point, we must also consider the arguments of the dancers who have devoted years of their lives to perfect their movements and perform shows. The Cut also notes that Vogue has consistently recruited dancers in the past for shoots like Misty Copeland, Rudolf Nureyev, and David Hallberg.

However, aside from this shoot, Kendall and Gigi Hadid were also recently under fire for portraying performance artists Marina Abramovic and Yoko Ono for W MagazineAgain, people also called it out and said that they “mocked” performance artists “by making it into a joke.”

Well, looks like Kendall still has a lot of explaining to do.
