Local Brand Beatriz Is Part of Oprah’s Favorite Things

Every year, Oprah Winfrey would release her famous Favorite Things list during the holidays. The list contains things that she thinks are worthy for you to buy for yourself or gift to your loved ones. This year, as we were browsing (and considering shopping) her famous list, we spotted something familiar and close to home—a Beatriz Tropical Edge clutch.

“These thread-appliquéd clutches are made by women in developing communities in the Philippines and inspired by the country’s eye-catching fabrics. The perfect complement to an LBD, am I right?” said Oprah about the colorful clutches.

Beatriz is a local brand headed by Carissa Cruz Evangelista and they are known to create accessories, clutches most especially, that are made with and inspired by Philippine fabrics. Their variety of eye-catching clutches and bags has been retailing in various luxury stores not just in Manila but in countries like the US, Paris, Bahamas, Spain, Australia, and more. So it’s really no surprise that they caught Oprah’s attention and approval.

Congratulations, Beatriz! And we look forward to seeing more Filipino-designed and made products in the global market.
