Get Ready: Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory Will Open Two Stores in Manila

Get your hearts ready as we come bearing good news: Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory, a popular dessert shop in Tokyo, Japan that serves up cheese cookies and milk cheesecake, will open in Manila this Friday, Nov. 18. They will have two branches, one in Greenbelt 5 and one in SM Megamall. Let that sink in.

I remember the first time I tried all the flavors of their signature cheese cookies—Salt & Camembert, Honey & Gorgonzola, Porcini & Gouda, and Basil Tomato & Mozzarella—and I got hooked. And by that I meant finishing them all in one day, two max. If you’ve tried it before, you’ll know how addicting it is. The individually wrapped cookies marries salty and sweet perfectly, and it doesn’t hurt that it melts in your mouth ever so gently like lengua de gato but with a cheese center.

It’s famous as souvenirs from Tokyo next to the soft Tokyo Banana chiffon cakes. In Japan, you can easily buy this in train stations or simply head to one of their stalls. They don’t just offer their addicting cookies (I really can’t describe them any other way. Just ask Angelo Comsti of F&B Report), but they also have other desserts like the Milk Cheesecake—milk and cheese mousse wrapped in crepe. Mmm.

Locally, they will have three flavors available for the cookies—Salt & Camembert, Honey & Gorgonzola, and Porcini & Gouda. And based on their Facebook page, they will also bring in the Milk Cheesecake. Perfect as holiday gifts or for personal consumption.

Now you don’t have to buy a ticket to Japan just to get your hands on these. But we can’t assure you that there won’t be a line.
