How Not to Name Your Business: Thai Restaurant’s Sexist Name Is the Best Example

I love seeing creative restaurant and store names, sometimes wishing that I was that witty. Sadly, one Thai restaurant in Quezon City took it too far as their name promotes rape culture.

Nope, that’s not a typographical error nor a joke, it’s a real restaurant found in the stretch of Maginhawa Street. They even have a Facebook page if you need more proof.

The first time this circulated on Twitter, people found it funny as one user made a joke about a father spanking one’s kid. But if you think about it, the name sounds very wrong since it also makes light of sexism, incest, and violence against women and children. In fact, their Facebook page is filled with angry posts for their “distasteful play on words.”

So if you’re planning to open a restaurant or any commercial establishment in the future, this is how not to name your business, okay?!
