Looking for a new way to mattify your shiny complexion? This cushion compact has an ingredient that’s both yummy and unusual—marshmallow powder.
Murad recently released the MattEffect Blotting Perfector which promises to “absorb oil, minimize pores and perfect skin” before applying makeup. You can also use this to set your makeup and make it look matte for eight hours.
Elle divulged the product’s ingredients and its secret to mattifying and yes, it does include marshmallow powder. According to Murad, the ingredient has oil-absorbing properties and prevents skin dehydration. Now that’s something you don’t hear often.
Marshmallows were used in other beauty products in the past: using it together with cocoa can also soften one’s complexion. Another example is Lush’s Mmmelting Marshmallow Moment Bath Oil which leaves you with “silky skin.” You can also find notes of it in Ariana Grande’s fragrance Sweet Like Candy. Though, using it as a mattifying element is a first.
