Despite being a Hillary Clinton supporter, Ralph Lauren is rumored to dress Melania Trump on Inauguration Day.
According to WWD, Ralph is already designing a gown for the future FLOTUS. Melania’s white jumpsuit during Election Night was also from the designer.
If you remember, Ralph also designed some of Hillary’s famous pantsuits in the past, including the one she wore in her concession speech. However, he might get backlash for dressing Melania after designers like Tom Ford and Sophie Theallet strongly refused to be associated with the Trumps.
The Cut thinks that Ralph continues to reaffirm his bipartisanship when it comes to designing for political figures. This might even shape how Melania’s fashion choices will shape her as an eventual style icon like Michelle Obama and Jackie O.
