With Riccardo Tisci exiting as Givenchy’s creative director, rumors surface that he’s moving to Versace.
Riccardo worked with Givenchy for 12 years and was credited with resurrecting the luxury brand with his dark and sensual creations. He’s also worked with notable celebrities like Kim Kardashian-West, Madonna, and Beyoncé. He showcased his final collection during Paris Couture Week earlier this month.
“I have very special affection for the House of Givenchy and its beautiful teams,” Riccardo says in a statement. “I want to thank the LVMH group and Monsieur Bernard Arnault for giving me the platform to express my creativity over the years. I now wish to focus on my personal interests and passions.”
“The chapter Riccardo Tisci has written with the house of Givenchy over the last 12 years represents an incredible vision to sustain its continuous success,” Bernard Arnault, chairman and chief executive officer of LVMH, adds. “I would like to warmly thank him for his core contribution to the house’s development.”
Givenchy will name their new creative director at a later date.
Meanwhile, there are rumors that Versace’s eyeing Riccardo as their new artistic director. Although this isn’t confirmed yet, his exit from Givenchy is quite timely given that Versace hasn’t found a replacement for Anthony Vacarello.
We’ll update you once more information comes up. For now, we wish Riccardo luck on his future endeavors.
