Retail Giant Unveils New Collection Made From Recycled Ocean Waste

H&M will soon release their newest Conscious Exclusive Collection for 2017. This time, it’ll be made from recycled shoreline wastes.

The retail giant is incorporating a recycled polyester known as BIONIC, which is “made from recovered plastic from shorelines, waterways, and coastal communities.” This is also shown in their new ad featuring supermodel and philanthropist Natalia Vodianova where she’s seen wearing a pink pleated dress. Maybe something we can wear for upcoming weddings, yes?

Aside from their usual women and men’s lines, this collection will also include a kids’ line and also a fragrance made from natural oils.

Every year, H&M makes an effort to create an environmentally sustainable collection. The brand is one of the world’s largest users of organic cotton and recycled polyester. They also plan to sustainably source cotton by 2020.

Last year, they utilized recycled fabrics for their Conscious Exclusive Collection. They also called for customers to donate pre-loved clothes which will be made to new pieces.

The BIONIC-made collection will officially drop on April 20. We’ll keep a look out for its Philippine launch, don’t worry.
