What Made Vivienne Westwood Agree to Walk Paris Fashion Week?

Although Vivienne Westwood is no longer the creative director of her brand, she did make her runway debut at Paris Fashion Week.

Creative director and Vivienne’s husband Andreas Kronthaler surprised everyone backstage when he introduced her as one of the models. In an interview with Vogue, Vivienne says it didn’t need much to convince her. “He asked me to so I said yes immediately.”

Vivienne wore two looks on the runway—one was a black dress with gold splatter details, the other was a purple skirt suit with an oversized blazer. She also sported punk rock-inspired pink eyeliner and brows.

“You know, she has been doing the campaigns for 12 years now,” says Andreas. “And I remember at the beginning people thought it was crazy to have you photographed… Ten years ago it was different, but now it is more normal and great to celebrate age.”

Andreas has been designing for Vivienne Westwood for 25 years now. Last year, they renamed Gold Label  to Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood as part of their rebranding.

The question now is will we see Vivienne more on the runway next season?
