Jean-Michel Basquiat Makeup? This Top Brand Is Making It Happen

Urban Decay is coming out with a Jean-Michel Basquiat collection that’s got all the works. Get ready for some blue eyeliner, bright pink lipstick, green eyeshadow, and lots of no-apologies attitude.

Wende Zomnir, founding partner of Urban Decay, dropped the sneak peek on Instagram. The flat lay of the 12- piece collection features Basquiat’s signature crown symbol. The bright, eye-catching colors are only expected as Basquiat’s works were often rendered in loud colors that also captured the growing graffiti scene of the ’80s. Ruby Rose, fittingly, is the face of the campaign for the colletion.

Jean-Michel Basquiat is an American artist whose pieces represented different dichotomies and resounded in the hip-hop culture of lower east side of Manhattan, where he lived. He’s often got a shoutout in different hip-hop songs of late like Jay Z’s “BBC”, Rik Ross’ “Heartless (Remix)” and “Ten Thousand Hours” by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.
