Chef Behind the Cronut Invents a Cake Floating in a Balloon

Dominique Ansel’s bakery in Japan features a few Instagram-worthy delights such as a hotdog bun shaped like a puppy. But few only take the cake like the Zero Gravity Chiffon. It’s a sweet treat that’s so light (in actual weight, not calories) that it comes floating inside a balloon.

Of course, you don’t believe us so you’ll have to watch the post from the pastry chef himself down below.

I suppose this makes every other party treat now pretty lame. These Zero Gravity Chiffon Cakes are exclusive to the Tokyo location of Dominique’s  bakery. If I were you, I think I will add this spot to my next Japan trip itinerary.

Dominique Ansel is the man behind a lot of signature pastries from his famous New York city bakery such as the Kouign-Amann (a caramelized croissant which was hailed as part of the 100 best dishes of 2012), Cronut, the Cookie Shot, and Frozen S’mores.
