Lucie and Luke Meier Are the New Creative Directors of Jil Sander

Lucie and Luke Meier have been appointed as the new creative directors of Jil Sander, effective immediately. According to Women’s Wear Daily, the couple will work together in creating both the men’s and women’s collections with their pre-collection focusing on the coed form.

Stated in VogueLucie and Luke said, “We feel proud and honored to join this beautiful brand. To be able to work on this side-by-side makes this opportunity even more special to us. We hope to show the affection we have for this brand through our work, as Jil Sander has had such a profound influence on our paths.”

Individually, the Meiers have achieved great success in their careers. Lucie first worked alongside Marc Jacobs at Louis Vuitton and then later joined Balenciaga under Nicolas Ghesquière. She was also the co-creative director of Dior after the departure of Raf Simons. Luke, on the other hand, was the head designer of Supreme for eight years before he co-founded the menswear line, OAMC.

Their first collection, set to preview in September, will be for Resort 2018.

Congratulations Lucie and Luke! We look forward to seeing your first collection.
