Anyone who follows Karl Lagerfeld’s glamorous life knows how much he loves his cat Choupette. (Next to Chanel and photography, of course.) The furry pet even has an Instagram account with over 98,000 followers and a Shu Uemura collab. If you’ve always wanted your own Choupette, Karl will start selling plush versions of his cat.
According to Karl’s website, he’s partnered with German toy company Steiff to bring us a Choupette doll. It looks identical to the real cat complete with its signature soft fur. It even has its own toy mouse to play with.
“Choupette is such a famous and beautiful cat that when this request came to me, I was not even surprised,” Karl said in a statement last February. “Steiff is the perfect choice for this kind of collaboration. It’s the only company that has the required expertise to highlight the extreme and absolute refinement of this young princess.”
Here’s the catch: the plush toy retails for $545. Whoa! It’s the equivalent of a Chanel ensemble. But then again, did we expect anything less for Karl’s beloved cat?
So if you want to add this Choupette plushie to your fashion collection, you better prepare your wallets. Or, just get your own furry Siamese cat.
