Proudrace Reveals ‘Not Raf Simons’ Print For Their Upcoming Capsule Collection

Local streetwear brand Proudrace may have created the best response to Raf Simons after the designer copied one of their designs. Creative director and designer Rik Rasos shared a limited-edition print that said “Not Raf Simons.”

In an Instagram post, Rik wrote that he’s “being petty,” and that they’re only selling 10 pieces of this design at their first pop-up shop at Century City Mall on July 1. No news if Proudrace will sell this in their store right after, but who knows? It might just become popular.

Last month, the Proudrace team discovered that Raf Simons released a sweatshirt with the same design as their June 2016 piece. Rik told us before that he planned on making a “Not Raf Simons” print for their next collection. Nonetheless, he kept a positive outlook on the incident. “Maybe we are slowly making noise that huge international brands are referencing us,” he said. “Now I brush it off because it’s easy to copy a design but they can never copy the soul of your label.”
