Why ‘Vogue’ UK EIC Edward Enninful Hired Naomi Campbell and Grace Coddington as Contributors

Newly-appointed British Vogue EIC Edward Enninful is slowly building his team as he takes on the helm. This includes hiring contributors like Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Steve McQueen, and Grace Coddington.

“I am thrilled that Kate, Naomi, Steve and Grace are going to work with us in these new roles,” Edward said in a statement.

Both Naomi and Kate are no strangers to the magazine. Kate served as contributing fashion editor since 2013 and of course, fronted several of the covers. Naomi was also a cover girl since the ’80s and is a good friend of Edward’s.

Meanwhile, the addition of 12 Years a Slave director Steve McQueen will “bring an increased depth to the arts within the magazine.” Guess he has to juggle being a contributing editor while directing a Tupac Shakur documentary.

Lastly, Grace Coddington’s Vogue journey continues with this contributor position. After stepping down as Vogue US creative director, she released two books and a perfume, and still worked as an editor at large. Edward also considers her as his friend and mentor. Grace’s relationship with Vogue started at a very young age; she has become synonymous with the title and is as much loved in Britain as she is globally,” Edward said.

Looks like Edward’s team is shaping up to be an interesting one. We can’t wait to see what they’ll bring to the magazine.
