Not a Fashion Ed, This Is a Chinese Airline’s New Uniform

This might just be the best flight attendant uniform I’ve ever seen. China’s Hainan Airlines recently revamped their dress codes with more haute couture options.

The airlines collaborated with designer Laurence Xu, who debuted the uniforms at Paris Couture Week. Inspired by the traditional Chinese dress cheongsam, he incorporated colorful florals and tailored stitching on the dresses and coats. There are also elements of Western-style fashion trends and other Chinese art elements including the mythical bird, Roc.

One ensemble even looks like the uniform in the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. (Hi, Harry Potter fans!)

According to Hainan Airlines brand director Xu Fei, they wanted the uniform to reflect China’s “modern and trendy” side. “The cooperation between Hainan Airlines and Lawrence Xu is industry leading. We are not only creating a new uniform but also showing the internationalized image of our airline.”

Who else is loving this chic uniform makeover and ready to book a flight?
