Dyeing your hair is a big commitment, not only will you be sitting in the salon chair for hours but you have to be able to maintain it too. I recently dyed my hair blonde. Yes, I went for it. After bleaching, toning, and four and a half hours of anxiously waiting, I got the cut and color I wanted. Now comes the hard part, taking care of my hair. I want to prevent it from turning brassy and keep it soft too. There are many products that you can choose from but here are the basics that you can start with if you have dyed hair too.
Bed Head Dumb Blonde Violet Toning Shampoo
Your first mistake would be not buying purple toning shampoo. Using this shampoo will prevent your hair from turning brassy. It will also increase the cooler tones in your hair while making it feel softer and appear shiny. You can leave this in your hair for one to 10 minutes depending on the effect you want. Available at Kapwa Studio.
Beach Born Classy Not Brassy Purple Conditioner
To go with your purple shampoo, get yourself some purple conditioner. This product will moisturize your hair while getting rid of brassy tones. Apply it from root to tip and leave it in your hair for three minutes before rinsing completely. Available online.
Burt’s Bees Hair Repair Shea & Grapefruit Deep Conditioner
Aside from avoiding brassy tones in your hair, you want to keep it soft. Since it has been bleached and processed, you have to take extra care of the texture of your locks. You can opt to use a purple conditioner as well but a deep conditioner will work as well. This one from Burt’s Bees contains natural shea butter and coconut oil that moisturize your hair while grapefruit extract and citrus oils add shine. Available at Beauty Bar.
OUAI Hair Oil
Hair care also follows when you’re out of the shower. Aside from keeping your hair soft, you want to maintain its natural shine as well. One way you can do this is by stocking up on hair oil. This one from OUAI smooths frizz and gives your hair a silky finish. Apply this on your wet or dry hair, focusing on the ends. Available on Sephora PH.
The Body Shop Grapeseed Glossing Serum
Once you’re done styling your hair, bring back some shine that your strands might have lost. Spritz on this serum before you walk out the door and you’ll have glossy hair throughout the day. Available at Glorietta 2.
Sephora Collection Hair Sleeping Mask
If you want to go an extra step, try using a hair mask. This is meant to be applied to dry hair and worn overnight for the best results. The coconut mask nourishes and repairs hair fibers while the other masks in this collection target different needs like frizz and split ends. Available on Sephora PH.
