Rachel Peters Wants to Meet Her Celebrity Twin, Solenn Heussaff

When you’re in the same room as a Miss Universe candidate, people crowding to take photos of and with her is a normal sight. Rachel Peters took it all in stride and smiled for each photographer at the Bench Playground. Even obliging a few selfies with fans and celebrities alike, and striking a conversation with some of them.

This was also our chance to ask Rachel a few questions before she gets busy with pageant training again. She only has a few months to prepare before flying to the US after all. So we snuck in a few minutes to chat about natural makeup and also her resemblance to Solenn Heussaff.

How’s life after winning Binibining Pilipinas?

It’s been good! Busy, but I’m enjoying every minute of it.

How are you preparing for Miss Universe?

There’s so many things to prepare for in the pageant. Some of the things I’m doing already are the hair and makeup training. Preparing my wardrobe also because I need a lot of outfits. Walking, Q&A, personality development—there’s a lot.

Do you have a look in mind already?

Yeah, we actually have! My advocacy is celebrating your individuality. So I want to live that and put on as minimal makeup as possible. We haven’t done the hair yet but we’ll get there.

What are your makeup must-haves?

Blush, bronzer, and mascara.

Since you’re into minimal makeup, what’s your skincare go-to?

I use a lot of coconut oil. I like to go as natural as possible.

What’s your dream beach destination that you’d like to go to next?

Tahiti. I’ll probably go there after the pageant. [Laughs]

Do you plan on exploring the US more after Miss Universe?

No, because I have a business in Siargao. I’ve left it in the back burner for a little while so as soon as I finish the pageant, I’ll work on that.

What’s your business like?

It’s a coffee shop.

What are the specialties?

Our main sellers would be avocado toast, California toast, yogurt and granola.

Who do you look up to for style inspiration?

Natasha Oakley and Olivia Culpo. Here in the Philippines, probably Tricia Centenera.

People have pointed out that you look like Solenn Heussaff. What can you say about that?

It’s an honor. I haven’t met Solenn. I would love to meet her though. I’ve met a lot of her friends and they all say I look like her. I don’t know why! I’ve been here three years but I’ve never seen her in person.
