Right now, there are a lot of suitcases being taken out of storage as trips are being booked. The long weekends are coming in a wave and I’m betting most of you have plans of getting away. It is funny how this season feels busy too because you have to pull these trips off right after your Halloween reveries.
You’ll manage, I’m sure. Still, packing is always a challenge for anyone, anytime. This is why we put together a small guide on what you should bring on your trips: from a simple city escape, to the airport, and from cold to tropical destinations
#1 Casual Outfit
Usually, you don’t want to fuss over your outfits during your vacation so you can have more time for the other activities. A fool-proof outfit like your comfy trousers (or denim jeans, too), sneakers, and a shirt is great when you plan to explore around a new city. You can also change it up for more formal occasions with the right shoe. It is also useful when you’re at the airport together with your cute bag.
Shop: Zara Basic Regular Fit Jeans. Available at SM Mega Fashion Hall.
#2 Cold Comfort
If heading to a cold climate such as Switzerland or even just good ol’ Baguio, the essentials are always a jacket, a comfy sweater, and a thick scarf. Throw it over your standard look (refer to #1) depending on what the weather demands.
Shop: Uniqlo Cashmere Scarf. Available online.
#3 Easy and Breezy
The cold bothers you? Perhaps you are heading to another city with all the creature comforts and Instagram-worthy backdrops. For this you can bring a slip dress that’s easy to style. You can put a coat over it, wear it on top of a shirt, or wear it on its own with either sandals or even heels.
Shop: T BY ALEXANDER WANG Embroidered silk-satin dress. Available online.
#4 The Practical but Statement Pair
Just in case you need to switch out your sneakers, bring some shoes that make a statement. These mules on Sarah Lahbati are a good example as they are still feel nice to walk in but since they are in white, they stand out.
Shop: Mansur Gavriel Leather Mules. Available via Net-A-Porter.
#5 Add-On to Your Bikini
Most of us might be planning a beach trip. Other than your—duh—bikini, pack something comfy to lounge in. It can be a cover-up but it can also be floral pants in a light fabric. You can wear them when not in the water and they can also go with any top you have. The versatility will save space in your luggage as well.
Shop: Mango Flowy Printed Trousers. Available online.
