Today isn’t just Anne Curtis and Erwan Heussaff’s wedding day. It’s also a special day for beauty lovers as BLK Cosmetics launches its limited-edition Bridal Collection, which includes two all-day intense matte lipstick shades: I Do (nude pink) and Mon Amour (sensual red). These are also Anne’s actual wedding day lipstick shades.
But you may be wondering if it’s really matte and long-lasting. So we tried both shades to find out whether you should run to the nearest makeup counter or not.
Both lipsticks come in BLK’s signature clear plastic tube. What’s different is the gold bullet, Anne’s signature, and the change in logo color from black to white.
Let’s talk about the shades. I Do is described as “the ultimate bridal hue for that romantic natural look.” While Mon Amour, “the color of glamour, passion, and romance, and the perfect shade for the wedding reception,” is Anne’s trademark hue, it also has the same vitamin E and camella oil formula as the other BLK matte lipsticks. This hydrates the lips and gives a comfortable, smooth feel despite being a true matte.
The colors are opaque when applied on the lips and they don’t transfer easily. Trust us, we didn’t have to touch up much even after eating lunch. I did, however, notice that I Do faded around late afternoon.
Some of you may also be wondering if the shades will match your skin tone. What we can tell you is that I Do will look like a bright pink (at least for me) if you have medium to dark skin tone. If you’re into that effect, then it’s totally fine! Meanwhile, Mon Amour is a more universal shade with its berry-like color.
The lipsticks are priced at P349 each, and the Bridal Box Set retails at P598. It’s not a bad price for their quality, if you ask us. If you want to cop them ASAP, they will be available at The SM Beauty Section, Watson’s, Zalora PH, and BLK’s website.
