Here Are the Hairstyles We Think Are Going to be Big in 2018

“New year, new me.” That will probably be everyone’s caption on Jan. 1st, 2018. While you’re getting your New Year’s resolutions in order, it might be time to get a new hairdo too. What perfect way to ring in 2018 than with a new hairstyle? If you’re bored with how your locks look now, here are our trend predictions for next year.

Bangs

One hairstyle we think will come back next year are bangs. You probably had side swept bangs throughout your high school life, why not bring them back in 2018? You can also try straight bangs like Jessy Mendiola’s latest ’do.

These past few years, we’ve been seeing many people go blonde—myself included. It’s a drastic change and commitment but it’s worth it. Maintenance can take a lot of work but have you seen Selena Gomez’s hair lately? Who wouldn’t want to look like that?

Tired of extensions or your long locks? Try going for a pixie cut in 2018. Free yourself from the stress of having to style your hair in the morning and embrace air-drying. You can take inspiration from Anne Hathaway’s style from 2014 or my personal favorite, Winona Ryder in the late ’90s.

Switching up colors

If you can’t decide on just one color for your hair, constantly switch it up like Arci Muñoz. If you don’t want to fully commit to a shade, you can just dye the ends of your hair by adding a pop of color.

Slick back

For a girlboss look, try sporting slicked back hair come the new year. Just like Rihanna’s look for Fenty Beauty, you will definitely command attention. You can also take inspiration from Kim Kardashian’s past hairstyle and go for a more wet effect.

Beach waves

We noticed that a lot of people have been visiting the beach more often, getting some sun and even surfing like Andi Eigenmann. A trend that might become more rampant next year is messy beach waves. Not just achieved by curling your hair but with the use of some volumizing products too.
