Yes, You Can Totally Wear Pink Mascara on a Regular Basis

When Fenty showed models with orange mascara during their fall 2017 showcase, many were convinced that colored mascara would become an eventual trend. We also predicted that Rihanna would release her own under Fenty Beauty, but that has yet to happen. (We’re still waiting, Riri!)

The other day, Urban Decay revealed that they’re coming out with vibrant metallic mascaras. The teaser photos showed bright purple and pink lashes that looked gorgeous. But also got us thinking if this is wearable even on regular days.

If you’re into the trend, of course you can incorporate colored mascara on your go-to eye looks. Try out these mascara and eyeshadow combinations we listed down below whenever you feel like it.

Butter London Electralash Colour Amplifying Mascara in Starlight + MAC Eye Shadow in Amber Times Nine

Starting out with the most neutral color palette: gold and brown. This gold mascara from Butter London will give you shimmery lashes that’ll stand out with brown eyeshadow. MAC’s Amber Times Nine palette has two brown shades—a chocolate shade and a dark shade—that you can use. Adding glitter is optional.

Butter London. Available on Sephora PH.

MAC Cosmetics. Available at Rustan’s The Beauty Source.

POP Beauty Lashy Flashy Mascara in Purple Passion + J.Cat Fab Five Eyeshadow Palette in Rare Rose

Purple mascara seems to be intimidating at first, but it can add dimension to your look. Show it off with a soft pink eyeshadow look courtesy of J.Cat’s Rare Rose palette. You can make it subtle or apply a bit of purple (the darkest shade) on your lid to match your mascara.

POP Beauty. Available at SM Makati.

J.Cat. Available at Uptown Mall.

Marc Jacobs Beauty O!Mega Lash Volumizing Mascara in Think Inc + Novo Cosmetics Single Eyeshadow in Silver

When we see makeup looks with blue mascara, it’s often worn over smokey silver eyeshadow. Achieve a similar effect with Novo Cosmetics’ single silver shadow. You can wear it on its own or over a darker base. For an intense blue mascara, use this one from Marc Jacobs Beauty which is also long-wearing.

Marc Jacobs Beauty. Available on Sephora PH.

Novo Cosmetics. Available on Beauty MNL.

Yves Saint Laurent Mascara Vinyl Couture in I’m the Excitement + H&M Beauty Eyeshadow in Secret Sphinx

Green is another bold and unusual mascara color. This one from Yves Saint Laurent promises “super-shiny color” on your lashes. The best way to show off this color is to use a matte champagne eyeshadow shade like H&M Beauty’s Secret Sphinx. You can also opt for a more shimmery eyeshadow if you’re going out for drinks.

Yves Saint Laurent. Available on Nordstrom.

H&M Beauty. Available at Greenbelt 4.

NYX Color Mascara in Pink Petals + ColourPop Super Shock Eyeshadow in Friskie

When I see pink and black together, it reminds me of a certain grungy trend that was big in high school. If you want to bring it back, do a smokey eye with Friskie, which is black with pink and silver glitter, and swipe on NYX’s Color Mascara in Pink Petals. Now you’re ready for your next concert.

NYX. Available at SM Aura Premier.

ColourPop. Available online.
