Ditch the White Wedding Gown and Wear a Mustard Yellow Pantsuit

After reading about the wedding dress disaster that happened to a Filipina bride last week, it got me thinking about what I would wear on my special day. Not that it’s going to happen soon but a girl can dream, right?

Going for a traditional white gown is the safest choice to make. We’ve also seen several celebrity brides opting for this. But as the years progress, so does bridal wear as women get married in jumpsuits and different-colored dresses. If you want to go for the unconventional route on your wedding day, check out the celebrity pegs below.

The granddaughter of late designer Sonia Rykiel ditched the traditional wedding dress and went for a white jumpsuit for her civil ceremony. It was a sleeveless crepe sateen piece paired with an ostrich feather-trimmed jacket. “I never saw myself in a jumpsuit. But I tried it, and it was so original, and I thought my grandmother would approve,” Lola Rykiel said.

An ombré white and pink wedding gown is a piece fit for any pop singer. Gwen Stefani wore a Dior one for her 2002 wedding with singer Gavin Rossdale. The dress was also featured in V&A’s 2014 exhibit titled Wedding Dresses 1775-2014.
