Our IKEA Wish List Doesn’t Just Have Furniture

Admit it, you’ve been waiting for IKEA’s first Philippines branch ever since we received news that it’s coming. Although many were fooled by the yellow and blue building spotted in Laguna, it was recently confirmed that the furniture store will open at the Mall of Asia Complex. Woohoo!

Gone are the days that we’ll only dream of exploring an IKEA store like in the movies. Before it opens its doors, we’re already thinking of the furniture that we want to cop for our homes. We can just imagine walking around like Tom and Summer in 500 Days of Summer.

So here’s our short wish list for IKEA Philippines. Here’s hoping that they’ll be available here!

Lack Side Table

If you hate carrying heavy tables around the house, then you’ll love the Lack Side Table. According to IKEA’s website, it’s lightweight and easy to assemble. The Lack series comes with various colors and sizes, so you can mix and match depending on your preferred palette.

Poäng Armchair

According to Business Insider, this armchair has been around for 40 years and it’s still a popular choice in IKEA. It’s known for its reclining structure which makes it a comfortable chair to relax in. The high back also provides support for your neck as you rest. Just imagine lounging on this after a long day of work.

Kallax Shelf

Whether they’re knickknacks or books, you can place them inside the Kallax Shelf. It can be assembled in any corner of the house, and can also be hung on the wall. You can even get a box organizer with the shelf for more space.

Malm Bed

Architectural Digest describes the Malm Bed as “ubiquitous, and so perfect in its minimalist, functional design.” What’s great about the Malm series is you can choose beds with any number of storage. It can be a drawer type or compartments under the mattress. A handy detail for when you need to hide valuables.

Stockholm Rug

Need to spruce up your floor without investing on a full carpet? Then get a Stockholm Rug which comes in different colors and patterns. This checkered one, for example, is made with handwoven wool and is perfect under a dining table.

Swedish Meatballs

This is not a piece of furniture, but everyone knows that you can’t leave IKEA without having their world-famous Swedish meatballs. It’s traditionally made with pork and beef, but IKEA also plans to roll out non-meat options. Just thinking about the tasty gravy and the meatballs is making us hungry!
