Coffee is one of those things that we just can’t get out of our system. Here in the office, many of us need that burst of energy so we can get through our workload for the day.
While we love our black coffee and/or lattes, there are also other recipes that you can try at home. You won’t even need expensive kitchen tools (like the ones in cafés) to make them. We listed some that are hot and cold so you can start sprucing up your mornings as soon as possible!
Bulletproof Coffee
This coffee is considered keto-friendly because it’s made with healthy fat from the butter and coconut oil. Other variations include heavy cream or coconut milk for added flavor.
Ingredients
12 oz brewed coffee
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp coconut oil
Procedure
1. Brew coffee.
2. Pour the coffee, butter, and coconut oil in a blender.
3. Blend on high for 30 seconds.
4. Drink and enjoy!
Hot Rum Coffee
I recently discovered a café that served coffee with rum as part of their Christmas promo. Now that it’s not on their menu anymore, it might be time to make it myself. (Drinking this in the morning is optional—unless you want to get an alcoholic buzz early.)
Ingredients
2 cups coffee
3/4 cup amber rum
1/2 cup half-and-half, heated
2 1/2 tbsp sugar
1/8 tsp cardamom, ground
1/8 tsp nutmeg, grated
Grated chocolate
Procedure
1. Combine the coffee, half-and-half, sugar, cardamom, and nutmeg in a pitcher.
2. Pour small amounts of rum in mugs (or a mug if you’re drinking alone) then pour the coffee mixture on top.
3. Stir the mixture gently.
4. Top it with grated chocolate if you want a little sweetness.
5. Enjoy!
Thai Iced Coffee
If you love Thai iced tea, then you might be into this too. This coffee drink is made with condensed milk, giving it that signature sweetness and creaminess. (Many would compare this to Vietnamese coffee. But the difference is that Thai coffee has sugar in addition to condensed milk.)
Ingredients
2 cups hot coffee
4 to 6 tbsps sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup evaporated milk or heavy cream
Ice cubes
Sugar to taste
Procedure
1. Pour coffee in a mug or pitcher.
2. Combine condensed milk with the coffee and stir well.
3. Add ice cubes and refrigerate for one hour or more. You can get up early to do this or do it the night before.
4. Serve over ice and top the drink with a few tablespoons of evaporated milk or heavy milk. You can also add sugar to taste.
5. Enjoy!
Almond Iced Coffee
Before, we listed almond milk as a healthier alternative to whole milk and creamer. Here’s a recipe that you can try using the product.
Ingredients
2 cups coffee
1 cup almond Milk
Sugar to taste
Procedure
1. Pour the coffee in a glass filled with ice.
2. Add the almond milk. The flavor will intensify depending on how much milk you put.
3. Add sugar if you want it to be sweeter.
4. Enjoy!
Sparkling Espresso
The sparkling water will add a bubbly element to your morning espresso. This is also perfect if you’re not into the strong taste of espresso.
Ingredients
1 cup espresso, chilled
1 cup sparkling water
Crushed ice
Sugar to taste
Procedure
1. Pour espresso halfway in a tall glass with ice.
2. Pour sparkling water in the other half.
3. Add sugar to taste.
4. Stir and serve.
