Fashion designers have started presenting their resort and cruise collection for 2019 and it has definitely been a treat. Their take on vacation outfits might be different from when we’re used to but it gives us a fresh perspective. They give us updated looks of pieces we already own like shorts, swimsuits, and dresses. We still have a few weeks left for summer, which means we also have time to shop season-appropriate clothes. You still might be on the hunt for the perfect summer party dress or accessory, so let some of our favorite resort 2019 looks serve as your inspiration.
Louis Vuitton Shorts
We are living for these shorts from LV. It comes in a khaki green color, a summer neutral we all need in our closet. An added touch is a piece of fabric draped in front and fastened with a button. It was also cinched at the waist with a beige belt that has monogram trimming and an LV stamp. Like the model, we would wear this with a white top but one with short sleeves and made of linen. Instead of boots, how about a pair of espadrilles?
Emilio Pucci Swimsuit
There have been many swimsuit trends popping this summer including neon colors and cheeky bottoms. Emilio Pucci gives us another option with this printed number. This flattering swimsuit features different shades of pink, orange, and mint green. It also has thick straps and a deep-cut back. We also love how they mixed prints with a striped hat. All that’s missing are a pair of shades and a beach backdrop.
Tory Burch Skirt
Switch up your short bottoms for a flowy skirt. This piece will also add texture and movement to any ensemble. Taking inspiration from this look, go for a monochromatic outfit. Wear a cream skirt with a blouse of a similar color. For shoes, a pair of booties similar to the one in the photo works or even loafers.
Roberto Cavalli Dress
Summer parties are essential. Everyone gathers together to unwind and let loose. And to look good too. For some, half of the fun comes from finding the perfect party dress. And we think we just found it. Among Roberto Cavalli’s pieces was this embellished dress. It has cutouts by the waist and is covered in beads that form a paisley pattern. The dress itself comes in a nude shade, making the colorful beads pop. The look was made even more bougie with a pair of gold shoes and accessories.
Bottega Veneta Belt Bag
Fanny packs are still in and they made an appearance in Bottega Veneta’s collection. They presented a number of bags, including this one in gold. The strap was tied around the model’s waist a few times, something different from the usual belt bag. It had the classic woven detail on the opening flap and a black zipper. We can see this wrapped around a dress in place of a belt.
Valentino Headscarf
All of Valentino’s looks featured a bandana. There were different prints with colors like blue, brown, and red. Just like the clothes shown in the collection, you can wear a headscarf with pretty much any outfit. You can wear one with a maxi dress or sweater and trousers. It also makes a great addition to a jeans and blouse combo.
Theory Top
Just like a LBD, a crisp white button up shirt is essential in everyone’s wardrobe. And Theory hit the nail on the head with their version. The long sleeves have a loose fit, giving the top more shape. This piece is perfect for work and the outfit can inspire your next outfit. With a white top, throw on a long skirt and square toe flats. You can also opt to wear a blazer over it.
