Virgil Abloh and Kanye West shared an emotional hug after his first LV Menswear show

It is done. Virgil Abloh just released his first menswear collection for luxury brand Louis Vuitton. Just a mere four years after he started his own brand Off-White™

At the end of the show held in Jardin du Palais-Royal, Virgil walked the runway and walked to his mentor Kanye West who was, of course, seated in the front row. The two shared an emotional hug that both brought them in tears. Two men who happen to be at powerhouses in design couldn’t believe it. “We’ve made it,” they both probably thought.

One tweeted about the powerful moment too, not just the hug but the show in its entirety.

The show wasn’t just attended by celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Travis Scott, Naomi Campbell, A$AP Rocky, Rihanna, Dr. Vicki Belo, Hayden Kho, and more, but also by 700 design students invited by Virgil himself. This signals his commitment to open the world of luxury to a new generation.

All the tears were worth it, Virgil. You are a pioneer and we can’t wait to see what else you’ll be doing as LV’s creative director
