A spa massage doesn’t have to cost a lot, I found one for P950

I don’t know about you but for the past two weeks I find myself getting up from my chair more often to stretch. I can feel tension in my shoulders and knots forming. I also noticed that my back has been quite painful too. Getting up once in a while to stretch is always good but sometimes it isn’t enough. Sometimes, a deep massage is the best cure. Imagine having all your tight muscles loosened and leaving relaxed, calm, and rejuvenated. If this sounds like an ideal afternoon activity for you, I have some spa suggestions for you. I’m always up for a good treatment so I’ve compiled some of my favorite spas to go to along with a treatment I’ve personally enjoyed. Go through the list, find one that sounds good to you, and book your appointment for this weekend.

Qiwellness

Treatment: Qitranquility

Price: P1,180

Qiwellness is located in The Picasso so I suggest booking a staycation along with your massage. If you’re feeling extra stress from work and life in general, try out their Qitranquility massage, which lasts 90 minutes. It is described as a treatment that uses lymphatic drainage massage techniques which help blood circulation. This will also alleviate physical and emotional stress. At the end of the message, you will be led to a small seating area for a quick tea ceremony. Located at 4/F The Picasso, 119 L.P. Leviste Street, Salcedo Village, Makati City.

The Spa Wellness

Treatment: Mind and Body Flow with add-on Reawakening Eye Mask

Price: P2,860 + P800

If you really want to splurge and treat yourself, book an appointment at The Spa Wellness. I’ve had a few massages there and have tried their different rooms but I suggest trying out their villas. This is great for a couple’s massage. Each suite has its own tub and private shower. My favorite treatment would be the Mind and Body Flow. It is 90 minutes long and has a relaxing head massage. After the head massage, they pour warm rosemary essential oils on your scalp, which is supposed to release tension and it really does. I remember my body feeling tingly during this part. Located at B8, 9th Avenue Bonifacio High Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.

The Mandara Spa

Treatment: The Mandara Signature Massage

Price: P950 (75 minutes, P1,050 (90 minutes)

Yes, you can get a spa massage for less than P1,000. While looking for more affordable options online, I came across The Mandara Spa. It’s located in a quaint unit in BGC and I was satisfied with their service. Before you begin, you fill out a short form where you can pinpoint which areas you want the masseuse to target or avoid along with your desired pressure. Their signature massage is combination of healing strokes and a heat pad therapy. This will loosen any tight muscles you might have. This definitely worked for my shoulders and lower back. Located at Unit 318 McKinley Park Residences, 3rd Avenue corner 31st Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.

Nurture Wellness Village

Treatment: Magsing-Irog Massage

Price: P2,800 for two persons

You don’t have to be staying at the Nurture Wellness Village to book a massage there. My boyfriend and I made a stop here on our way back to Manila after a weekend in Calatagan. It was last-minute but a good choice. We tried their Magsing-Irog massage, which is good for two people. They first start off with a gentle foot scrub, perfect if you haven’t been giving your feet some TLC. The massage itself uses massage oil that has a blend of ylang ylang, palmrosa, and rosewood. This is just a quick one-hour massage so you can plan other activities in the area afterwards. Located at Nurture Wellness Village Pulong Sagingan, Barangay Maitim II West Cavite, Tagaytay.

Island Spa

Treatment: Foot and Back Massage

Price: P970

If you’re looking to kill some time at the mall, check out Island Spa in Rustan’s Makati. They have express services look foot massages for 30 minutes but they also have longer treatments. I suggest trying their foot and back massage. For 75 minutes, the masseuse will use Chinese acupressure therapy for the soles of your feet and a Swedish or Shiatsu massage for the body. These techniques will release tension in your body after a huge shopping spree. Located at 5/F Rustan’s Makati, Ayala Avenue, Makati City.
