Millennial Pink returns as the world’s top lipstick shade

Just when we thought Millennial Pink was out of our hairs, it came back in a big way. According to data from YouCam Makeup, this pink shade is the top global color. This was based on the in-app try-ons across the US, UK, and Asia, meaning that it’s a go-to for various skin tones.

To refresh your memory, Millennial Pink is a blush shade similar to Pantone’s 2016 color of the year, Rose Quartz. The shades could also vary, appearing lighter or darker. It trended for over a year before Gen Z Yellow and Ultra Violet took the pedestal in 2017 until early 2018. But based on this recent revelation, it seems that people still obsessed with it. I guess some things aren’t easy to forget.

So if you still need more lipstick in your arsenal, particularly Millennial Pink ones, we listed some below.

This matte lipstick promises to not make your lips dry upon application. It’s made with natural waxes for a smooth, even application. Popular Nude is a nude pink that can complement fair and medium skin tones. Available on Beauty MNL.

Maybelline Powder Matte Lipstick in Make Me Blush

Despite its brown cap, Make Me Blush is actually a blush pink shade. What’s great about the powder matte formula is it’s lightweight—like you’re not wearing lipstick. Available at Watsons.

Clinique Pop Matte Lip Colour + Primer in Peony Pop

Including a primer in a lip product package is pretty handy since it’ll help in moisturizing your lips and making the lipstick color pop more. That said, Clinique Pop’s Peony Pop is a medium-tone pink that comes in a matte formula that promises full coverage. This lipstick is also made with natural ingredients and doesn’t have parabens. Available at SM Makati.

Colourpop Paparazzi Matte Lux Lipstick

Described as a warm rose shade, Paparazzi can suit any skin tone. Aside from the intense color, the lipstick is made with antioxidant-rich extracts to keep your lips nourished. The finish is also velvet-matte for comfortable wear. Available online.

By Terry Hyaluronic Sheer Rouge in Princess in Rose

This product is “a lip-softening gloss loaded with hydrating color.” If you’re not into matte lipsticks, this one has more sheen and it’s also formulated with hyaluronic acid for added moisture. Princess in Rose appears to be a bright pink shade on the tube but when swatched, it gives a light Millennial Pink-like tint on the lips. Available on Sephora PH.
