This makeup brand showed off a woman’s upper lip hair and we’re here for it

As we said before, we have a weird relationship with body hair. It’s natural yet we get rid of it because society doesn’t find it appealing. But recently, several people and brands have showcased this to promote one aspect of body acceptance. MAC Cosmetics is the latest brand to do that and haters were salty about it.

Over the weekend, MAC posted a photo of a woman’s lips wearing the Chestnut lip pencil. If you look closely, you’ll see that the brand didn’t edit out the hair on her upper lip and we’re totally not mad at it.

However, some people couldn’t help but comment on it. Elle quoted netizens saying things like “What about the mustache on her mouth?” and “Couldn’t Photoshop her whiskers out?” Ugh, people.

Women shouldn’t be expected to do certain things because that’s what society sees hit. If they don’t give a f*ck about growing out their leg hair, brows, or even upper lip hair, then don’t shame them. Again, everyone has body hair and it shouldn’t be seen as some ugly thing when it’s being flaunted.
