These women power suited up at the Emmys

The red carpet at the year’s Emmy Awards was filled with head-turners. From beautiful draping to pops of color, we saw a little bit of everything. But aside from the dresses, we also noticed that a lot of ladies opted out of the expected and wore suits and trouser options instead. This may be against the norm but don’t forget, this still fits with the formal dress code, only with a twist. Felicity Huffman

Felicity Huffman kept it simple and elegant in a black two-piece suit. To accessorize she layered necklaces and carried a silver clutch.

Jennifer Lewis

Jennifer Lewis wanted to make a statement with her outfit. She wore a red and black Nike sweater with a bedazzled swoosh. According to BBC, her choice was made “to tell them how proud I am of them for supporting Colin Kaepernick.” Her look came off as casual but she accessorized with diamond accessories.

Issa Rae

Issa Rae didn’t wear a gown but her look gave a similar illusion. She wore a pastel blue jumpsuit by Vera Wang. It had a deep V neckline and a flowy train. Her accessories also matched the embellishments on the top of the outfit.  

Evan Rachel Wood

Westworld star Evan Rachel Wood went for an ensemble by Altuzarra. It was a combination of floor-length trousers and coat. The coat also had a long train, which gave off a very regal vibe.

Tatiana Maslany

Tatiana Maslany wore an unexpected outfit on the red carpet. It was a jumpsuit by Christian Siriano—the pants were black while the top was highlighter yellow with asymmetrical sleeves and a draped fabric detail.

Leslie Jones

Leslie Jones was also spotted in a Christian Siriano creation. According to US Magazine, it was watercolor-inspired and was a mix of shades of pink, green, and blue.

Amanda Crew

Silicon Valley actress Amanda Crew wore a show-stopping ensemble. She was dressed in sequin trousers and jacket, literally shining from all the lights. To give some color to her looks, she had a blue top underneath.
