I’m taking inspiration from childhood with bobby pins

There are many “old-school” hair accessories coming back like scrunchies and barrettes. If you think about it, these are pieces you probably wore when you were a child. You might even thought you’ve seen the last of them, but brands are starting to bring them back in ways that are more modern, current, and age-appropriate. Another hair accessory to make a comeback are bobby pins. Sure, they technically never went away but they are more than just tools to clip your hair back, they’ve become embellishments for your locks. If you want to bring back some of your childhood style in a fresh way, try out these bobby pins.

H&M 30-Pack Hair Grips

If you want something simple, try solid colors like brown, gold, and rose gold. This comes in a pack of 30 so you won’t feel bad if you use a few. Or, you can use them all at one time by pinning your hair away from your face. This is also great if you want to keep your bangs away from your face. Available at Greenbelt 3.

Bershka Diamante Hair Grips

Go all out with something shiny and that makes a statement, literally. These bobby pins should be your go-to accessory for a night of partying as it will sparkle when it catches the light, like you’re a walking disco ball. Available at SM Aura Premier.

Parfois Blog Hair Clip

For those bored with regular-sized bobby pins, cop this set with six big wavy ones. Use just one as a statement piece or form X’s on either side of your head. Since this comes in different colors, feel free to mix and match them too. Available at Robinsons Galleria.

Topshop Pearl Hair Slide Two Pack

Bobby pins aren’t just casual hair accessories, they can be fancy too. Take these pearl ones for example, which you can match with your jewelry for the day. This comes in a set of two so you can use clip this on either side of your head to secure your hair if it’s in an updo. Available at Power Plant Mall.

Jennifer Behr Mother of Pearl Hair Slides

These clips can also be used as accent pieces for simple hairstyles. Whether it’s braids or a loose low bun, stick these in and it’ll look like you have flowers in your hair. And who doesn’t want that? Available on Net-a-Porter.
