We are living for the ‘90s fashion in the ‘Riverdale’ throwback episode

In case you forgot, there’s a new episode of Riverdale out later today. If you’ve been keeping up online, this will actually be a throwback episode wherein the characters like Betty and Jughead will be playing their parents in high school in the 90s. You will see how all of their parents became friends and how different their personalities used to be. Riverdale High School oozed ‘90s goodness, including the fashion, of course. Before you watch the new episode, here are some outfits you can put together to feel like you’re part of the show.

Alice Smith

Shop: Zara Faux leather jacket with zips. Available at Power Plant Mall. Bershka Check Shirt. Available at Glorietta 2.

Back in high school, Alice Smith was a grunge girl from the Southside, and her style reflected that. She wore a Southside Serpents leather jacket with everything, of course. This one from Zara has a similar biker style. For an extra layer, she had a plaid button-up shirt tied around her waist. You can also pair these with ripped jeans and black boots.

Penelope Blossom

Shop: Topshop Bib Denim Pinafore Dress. Available at SM Megamall.

Penelope Blossom had a very girl-next-door vibe. Her staples included dark wash denim dungaree dresses and warm toned T-shirts. These pieces work even better when layered together. To get the full effect, throw on a coat, knee-high socks that match your top, and braid your hair.

Hermione Gomez

Shop: Uniqlo Rayon Short Sleeve Blouse. Available at Glorietta 5. Esprit Long Sleeve Sweater Cardigan. Available on Zalora PH.

Before getting roped into her husband’s schemes, Hermione Gomez was a model student. Her fashion choices embodied the epitome of a school girl. Tucked into her plaid, pleated skirt was a crisp white blouse. To keep her warm on chilly days, she would wear a cardigan. Finish off your look with knee-high socks, black peep toe shoes, and a headband.

Sierra Samuels

Shop: Reebok Freestyle Hi x Glow. Available at Robinsons Galleria.

Sierra always had strong political views but her sense of style was more laid back in high school. She wore a pair of high top sneakers like these ones from Reebok and T-shirts. She also liked to layer with different kinds of vests.
