As you may know, A Star Is Born starring Lady Gaga is the fourth remake of the original 1937 drama with Janet Gaynor playing the lead role. The singers who’ve had the opportunity to feature in the films are Judy Garland (1954) and Barbra Streisand (1976).
For the Golden Globes, Gaga shut down the red carpet in a blue Valentino gown with a long cape. Aside from being a looker of an ensemble, the singer-actress might’ve gotten inspiration from the dress Judy Garland wore in the 1954 film.
Both pieces are in shades of purple and have strapless details. The skirts are similarly flouncy as well. Check out the photo below for comparison:
Of course, Gaga made the look her own with this modern take on the gown and also rocking blonde and blue hair to complete the look. Looks like she went above and beyond to be stage-ready while receiving her awards. I mean, she already got one for Best Original Song (“Shallow”).
